Lt Cmdr Dax's Personal Log

Starfleet officers keep logs, so of course Dax does, too. These dashboards show the metrics we're watching in real time, so you can follow along with his mission.

Mission Control Feed

We're sure it's very shocking to you that we're tracking everything we can about Dax. Our first concern was his feeding patterns, because he struggled with eating expected quantities early on, so some graphs are provided here that visualize the data that we log in Google Sheets.

Coming soon: weight trends, sleep curves, and milestone logs.

Feeding Summary by Day

Displayed here are daily buckets of total consumption in mL, split by breastmilk donor.

Days reset at 13:11 EST daily, and the last column indicates targets (dark gray indicating where he's projected to be as of this moment, and light gray indicating the remaining quantity to be consumed before 13:11 EST). The targets are calculated using a bounded exponential trending function that factors in his historical eating, intended to plateau as we model typical newborn eating trajectories.

Feeding Summary by Hour

Based on the same underlying logs, this gives us a bit more of a visual intuition as to how frequently and how much Dax is eating. Feedings are bucketed by hour, anchored by the start time of the feeding.

Coming soon: A chart that allocates quantity consumed across the full duration of the feeding (think mL in each minute of the day) to help visualize consumption in a less spiky way.
